SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT | POLYCRUB

We’re delighted to shine a spotlight on Polycrub, who are celebrating their third year as a HebCelt sponsor - and this is a partnership we absolutely love!

There’s something particularly special about an island-to-island partnership. Polycrub was born from a community project in Northmavine, Shetland, with the aim of helping local people grow more fresh produce, reduce food miles and create a growing solution capable of standing up to the challenging island climate.

Today, Polycrub continues to have those community values at its heart, with the business supporting positive social change in its home community. That ethos feels right at home at HebCelt.

For the third year, Polycrub are supporting the festival - and, as they have done throughout our partnership, they have once again provided a Peerie Poly for our Children’s Area.

The Peerie Poly provides a fantastic, sheltered play space for our younger festivalgoers, creating a fun and welcoming area where children can play, explore and enjoy themselves. It has become a much-loved addition to our Children’s Area.

We love that this partnership is about much more than simply having a Polycrub on site. It creates a genuine connection between two island communities, with Shetland and the Outer Hebrides sharing ideas, supporting one another and celebrating the innovative things that can grow from island communities.

There are also some fantastic parallels between Polycrub’s approach and our own sustainability journey at HebCelt. Their Polycrubs were originally developed using redundant pipe from the aquaculture industry, giving materials a new lease of life, while their wider ethos centres around local growing, reducing food miles and making the most of available resources.

These are values that resonate strongly with us at HebCelt as we continue to look at ways to reduce our environmental impact, encourage more sustainable practices and make the festival a positive part of our island community.

And then there’s the wonderful connection between our two island communities. We’re proud to work with businesses and organisations that understand the opportunities and challenges of island life, and Polycrub are a fantastic example of how island innovation, community spirit and collaboration can reach far beyond our own shores.

A huge Mòran taing to the whole Polycrub team for your continued support, for once again bringing a little piece of Shetland to HebCelt, and for helping us create a special space for our youngest festivalgoers.

Three years of partnership, two island communities and one much-loved Peerie Poly!💚

Mòran taing, Polycrub!
