First Artists Revealed for HebCelt 2025

Award-winning Lewis music festival HebCelt has revealed the first batch of incredible artists on its line up for 2025, with general weekend tickets and new payment plans on sale from 10am tomorrow, Friday 29th November.

Early bird tickets for next year’s edition of the beloved festival, which is set to take place from 16th – 19th July 2025 in the picturesque grounds of Lews Castle in Stornoway, sold out rapidly earlier this summer.

Taking the stage as one of this year’s headliners is Tide Lines, the immensely popular Scottish band known for their powerful fusion of folk and rock, whose dynamic sound will electrify the Lews Castle Grounds next summer. In a special treat for festival-goers, HebCelt 2025 attendees will be among the first to experience Tide Lines’ newest material performed live, alongside the timeless hits that have established them as one of Scotland’s most cherished bands. Their performance promises to be a highlight of next year’s festival, showcasing their passion for storytelling through music and their ability to connect deeply with audiences.

Eddi Reader, renowned for her stunning voice and emotive performances, will also join the lineup, her performance will bring a soulful and heartfelt energy to the festival, bridging generations of folk music lovers.

Festival-goers will also be able to dance to the high-energy sound of MG Alba Scots Trad Awards winners of the 'Live Act of the Year' in 2023Trail West. In 2025 Trail West will celebrate their 15th Anniversary and what better place to celebrate their unique twist on traditional ceilidh music than at HebCelt! With the vibrant grooves of Samba Sene and Diwan, adding a West African rhythm to HebCelt’s diverse soundscape and a global element to HebCelt’s musical offerings.

Local country music band The Tumbling Souls are set to perform to a home crowd and rising stars in the Celtic music scene will also make waves this year, including Beluga Lagoon whose songs capture the beauty and serenity of Scotland’s landscape, with melodies that evoke images of glens, rivers, and the sea; and Cala a contemporary Scottish folk group from Inverness, who blend traditional influences with experimental sounds, alongside the Malin Lewis Trio whose hair tingling, philosophical and dance inducing melodies are inspired by European folk traditions, queerness and the universe.

Young talents such as Josie Duncan and Ruairidh Gray offer fresh interpretations of Gaelic and folk music, promising a lineup that both honours tradition and looks to the future.

Artists from across the globe are set to journey to the breathtaking Outer Hebrides, bringing the world to our island stage. From the USA, the dynamic Elias Alexander will dazzle with his innovative blend of Scottish folk and contemporary sounds, pushing boundaries while honouring tradition. Hailing from Canada, the award-winning duo Madison Violet will captivate audiences with their soulful harmonies, heartfelt lyrics, and genre-blurring blend of folk, pop, and Americana.

Completing the first wave of acts are NATI. with her contemporary blend of folk and indie sounds, Donnie Dòtaman the iconic children's entertainer celebrating 40 years since his television show first aired in 1985, Lauren Collier whose music offers a unique blend of traditional and electronic music that is incredibly diverse, yet wholly cohesive. LUSA featuring a mix of emotive electro-pop songs and synth driven electronica; and El Sartel, a band known for its fusion approach to traditional music, blending Scottish heritage with modern influences and international flavours.

HebCelt Artist Programmer Michelle Shields said: “We are incredibly excited to bring such a diverse and talented lineup to HebCelt 2025. From established favourites like Tide Lines to emerging artists who are redefining Celtic and folk music, we are curating a programme that celebrates the heart and soul of the Hebrides. In 2024, HebCelt drew over 17,800 attendees and contributed £4 million to the local economy, further cementing its place as a must-attend event in Scotland’s summer calendar.
