Some partnerships just make perfect sense and our sponsorship with McLaughlin Plant & Haulage and Stornoway Skip Hire is a brilliant example.

This year, we were delighted to welcome these two family-run, family-connected businesses as sponsors of our HebCelt Green Volunteer Team - a team that plays a hugely important role in helping us deliver a cleaner, greener and more sustainable festival.

And this year is a particularly special one for the family behind both businesses, as they celebrate an incredible 20 years in business.

Over two decades, the family has built businesses that have become an important part of the island’s commercial and community landscape, providing essential plant, haulage, skip hire, waste management and recycling services across Lewis and the wider Western Isles.

Their support of our Green Volunteer Team feels like a particularly natural fit.

At HebCelt, our Green Team volunteers are at the heart of our environmental efforts during festival week. They help festivalgoers make the right choices around recycling and waste, keep the site clean and well managed, and play a vital role in helping us reduce the environmental impact of one of the island’s biggest events.

Behind that work is a strong local partnership with businesses who understand the importance of responsible waste management, recycling and making the most of the resources we have.

Stornoway Skip Hire operates the Western Isles’ only waste transfer station, with more than 90% of the waste they receive being recovered through recycling and other processes. That commitment to diverting waste from landfill aligns closely with HebCelt’s own sustainability journey.

Alongside this, McLaughlin Plant & Haulage provides specialist plant, haulage and recycling solutions, supporting businesses and projects across the islands with the equipment and expertise they need.

What makes this partnership even more special is that it is rooted in the same place we are - family, community and a commitment to the future of our islands.

So, while you may see our fantastic Green Volunteers out and about during festival week, helping keep HebCelt clean and green, there is a brilliant local family and two established island businesses standing behind them.
