"Since it was set up in 1996, the Hebridean Celtic Festival has established itself as a premier league fixture in the international folk'n'roots calendar, as well as a flagship event which acts as both focus and spur in developing a livelier local scene. Extensive and stylish advertising, both in the UK and abroad, this year drew crowds of up to 1500 to the main evening concerts, a genuinely cosmopolitan mix of locals and visitors, although predominantly young. Hebridean, Celtic and hip could hardly be bettered as an image right now".

This year's stunning line-up included Martyn Bennet, Llan de Cubel, Vast Majority, Keep it Up, Peatbog Faeries, Sharon Shannon, Anna Murray, Anne Martin & Ingrid Henderson.

'Musically, the programme continues to steer a sure-footed course between top quality contemporary traditionalists and the pick of the crossover/fusion crop.'
