HebCelt – the Lews Castle UHI Showcase

The multi award winning HebCelt Festival have teamed up with Lews Castle College UHI to offer an exciting opportunity to perform at the festival.

On offer is:

  • A performance slot on one of the festival arena stages
  • £500 to cover all expenses
  • Passes to enjoy the rest of HebCelt

Who can apply?

The competition is open to any performer or band which includes members who are studying or who have studied (graduates) on one of the music programmes delivered by Lews Castle College UHI – HNC Music, BA Applied Music, MA Music and the Environment. You will play a genre of music that reflects the general programming of the festival.

How can I apply?

To enter, you need to prepare a promotional pack in electronic format that really sells your music to the judges. You must include:

  1. At least one high resolution photo and your biography
  2. Links to good quality recordings of your music – 3 tracks that show your repertoire to its fullest potential
  3. Video of ‘live’ performance (optional)

The deadline for all submissions is midnight on Friday 8th March 2019

Terms & Conditions

  • You will receive an acknowledgement that your submission has been received.
  • The winning artist(s) will be informed by 11th April
  • You must be available for the performance slot which is between 18-21 July.
  • The winning artist(s) will be responsible for making their own travel and accommodation arrangements if required.
  • Winning artist(s) must assist with promoting across a variety of media
  • No further correspondence will be entered into and the judges’ decision is final.

CalMac Daily ferry travel to and from the Isles. The main ferry to Lewis is from Ullapool on the mainland but can also be reached through Harris from Skye or North Uist.
